Project summary
The Rechargers played a pivotal role in supporting EDRI by successfully migrating and streamlining their six distinct business units onto a new, future-proof CPMS. In addition, our team also contributed significantly by designing, rolling out, and testing various payment-related topics.
Our contribution
The Rechargers worked closely with EDRI and Ampeco to successfully implement the new CPMS. The project was executed in two parallel Tracks:
Payment track:
To support EDRI’s payment needs, we assigned a product manager with the relevant expertise, focusing on several key areas. First, we defined a north-star solution for future payment terminal rollouts. Second, we managed the migration of the current Payment Service Provider (PSP) to Worldline across all countries. Additionally, we conducted an RFI for eInvoicing and fiscalization to ensure synchronization of invoices with tax authorities. Finally, we oversaw the development of payment-related functionalities, including the creation of a new ad-hoc webflow page and improvements to receipt management.
CPMS Migration track:
The CPMS Migration track aimed to facilitate a seamless transition to the new Charge Point Management System (CPMS), tailored to meet the diverse operational needs of EDRI’s six business units across multiple countries.
To achieve this, we conducted in-depth design and solutioning workshops with all six business units to gather and define their specific requirements. Following these workshops, we configured the CMPS tailored to the distinct needs of each business unit.
Once the CPMS was fully configured, we undertook several key activities to prepare for the migration execution. First, we conducted thorough end-to-end (E2E) testing to verify the system’s functionality and compatibility prior to the go-live date. This testing ensured that all components were working as intended and ready for operation.
Next, we developed a detailed migration plan that outlined every aspect and step of the migration process. This plan was designed to facilitate careful coordination, ensuring that each phase of the migration was executed smoothly and effectively.
Lastly, we focused on coordination and communication to foster effective collaboration among all external stakeholders, including Ampeco. This approach was essential in facilitating a seamless transition, as it ensured that everyone involved was aligned and informed throughout the process.
Project results
The complete preparation led to a seamless go-live, which enabled us to complete the cut-over within a remarkable three-hour migration window. The migration involved over 6000 public charging points and more than 100 roaming parties, connected via Hubject and Peer-To-Peer. The effectiveness of our approach was evident as the system handled more than 10,000 sessions within the first 48 hours post-migration, underscoring the efficiency of the cut-over and the robustness of the new system.
