Project Summary

Mer was facing the challenge of consolidating numerous business units all over Europe, each using different CPMS, CRM and ERP packages. The charging solutions offered, and the integrations required varied across the legal entities. The Rechargers supported Mer in the creation of a consolidating IT strategy, which included supporting the selection of a new CPMS platform for all business units. What followed was an immense implementation project, starting with a thorough indexation phase and continued by a design phase to ensure all offerings and business processes were supported in all target systems. Today, Mer’s target IT infrastructure is live and operational in their first business unit in Sweden. The project continues with the rollout of the remaining business units.

Our contribution

The Rechargers created the EV Charging Platform Benchmark, which compared strengths and weaknesses of Mer’s in-house CPMS solutions and a range of SaaS vendors with the requirements from all business units. The outcome was a shortlist of vendors, from which Driivz was eventually selected as the best fit. Simultaneously, we provided Mer’s management with an implementation roadmap for consolidating the EV charging platform and integrating it with their future ERP & CRM systems, outlining costs, timelines, resources and risks.

The implementation project that followed saw the formation of a strong team consisting of functional analysts, project managers and subject-matter experts from The Rechargers, running in a joint-team setup with a core client team. This team designed all business processes in all target applications. The migration team, equally reinforced by EV Charging consultants from The Rechargers, ensured Mer experienced a smooth transition for all Swedish drivers and the charging infrastructure. They continue to work towards the same result for Mer’s remaining business units.
